  • Large scoop, flat card, large crumpled paper balls and tray; umbrella photo and bird photo for comparison.

Safety

  • Only a grown-up uses scissors or cuts cardboard. Keep small pieces out of mouths; use large cards.
  • Do not eat test seeds, plants or materials. No tasting is needed; check allergies and wash hands.

How to help

Let your child listen, look and try before you explain. Point to the next picture if needed. Accept drawing, pointing or a voice response; writing is optional. Save the child’s own work with a date.
