For the grown-up
Each lesson takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Big idea
Many dated observations help us describe our weather year.
Words
- year twelve months in order
- data observations we saved
- pattern something that repeats
- observed looked at and recorded
Talk together
- Which month had more recorded rain?
- What did morning and afternoon show?
- What does a blank mean?
Get ready
- All completed monthly records, weather-category tally strips and one year-summary frame.
Safety
- A grown-up stays close. Never look at the Sun; use hats, sunscreen and shade breaks. The adult checks surfaces first; do not touch anything hot.
How to help
Let your child listen, look and try before you explain. Point to the next picture if needed. Accept drawing, pointing or a voice response; writing is optional. Save the child’s own work with a date.
