Talk together

  • Which pair is the same material?
  • What did the sun change?
  • How do these results compare with water?

Get ready

  • Six shallow matching trays, clean play sand, clean potting soil and large smooth rocks; Week 19 water results.

Safety

  • A grown-up stays close. Never look at the Sun; use hats, sunscreen and shade breaks. The adult checks surfaces first; do not touch anything hot.
  • Do not eat test seeds, plants or materials. No tasting is needed; check allergies and wash hands.

How to help

Let your child listen, look and try before you explain. Point to the next picture if needed. Accept drawing, pointing or a voice response; writing is optional. Save the child’s own work with a date.
