Kindergarten · Science · Week 2
Warm or cold?
Pick a page. Tap Play to listen.
For the grown-up
Each lesson takes about 15 to 20 minutes.
Big idea
Sky and air warmth are two things we can observe.
Words
- warm not cold to feel
- cold not warm to feel
- air what is around us
- thermometer tool that shows temperature
Talk together
- How does the air feel?
- Which picture shows your feeling?
- Can the sky be sunny and cold?
Get ready
- Weather cards, warm and cold thermometer cards, optional non-glass outdoor thermometer read by an adult.
Safety
- A grown-up stays close. Never look at the Sun; use hats, sunscreen and shade breaks. The adult checks surfaces first; do not touch anything hot.
- A grown-up chooses a safe accessible route and stays close; hold hands near streets. Stay away from traffic, wildlife, unknown plants and standing water; use photos indoors if needed.
Story time
How to help
